International award-winning acts Mundy and The Blizzards will headline this year’s Ballinrobe Festival. Following on from the festival’s sold out events last year, 2020 is promised to be the biggest and best yet in Ballinrobe.
An Irish megastar, Mundy’s music has allowed him travel the world supporting some of the greats including Bob Dylan, Neil Young, REM and Oasis. He has even played at the White House for President Barrack Obama as part of the St Patrick’s Day celebrations.
He will play the Big Red Barn on Friday, July 24, entertaining crowds with firm favourites ‘July’, ‘Galway Girl’ and the 1996 classic ‘To You I Bestow’ from the soundtrack to Baz Luhrmann’s film ‘Romeo & Juliet’. The soundtrack went on to sell eleven-million copies and introduced Mundy to the world.
Creating his own flavour of acoustic folk-based pop/rock, crowds in Ballinrobe are sure to be mesmerised.
Saturday, July 25, will see Bressie and The Blizzards take to the stage to rouse crowds with hits such as ‘Trust me I’m a Doctor’ and ‘Drop down the Anchor’.
The multi-award-winning, platinum selling artists are one of the most powerful and impressive live acts to come out of Ireland. A four-piece punk-pop outfit, they are renowned for their charisma, explosive energy, dedication and charm, and are sure to deliver a commanding live performance.
The band has played the main stage alongside some of the biggest acts in the business, including ACDC and The Prodigy.
And, if that’s not enough, the festival Race Day Dance will also make a return, bringing with it one of the Irish Country scene’s biggest stars – Robert Mizzell.
Mizzell has made Ireland his home for over 20 years and has toured Ireland and the UK extensively with his band ‘The Country Kings’. He was voted ‘Ireland’s Favourite Country Music Singer’ in a poll conducted by RSVP Magazine.
He plays the Big Red Barn on Tuesday, July 21.
Along with these music heavyweights, the festival will once again have a host of family-friendly activities and events, including the hugely popular cinema day and finishing with the Queen of the Lakes.
